Citation

On 8 July 1948, Subedar Mohammed Ibrahim's platoon was in position on a false crest which was overlooked by the enemy and subjected to very heavy shelling for over two hours and then attacked from both flanks. In the ensuing fight, though heavily outnumbered and wounded in the head and the chest Subedar Mohammed Ibrahim personally led three counter-attacks against the enemy with great dash and gusto beating back the enemy every time.

In spite of his wounds and still under heavy enemy fire, he kept moving about the position organising and encouraging his men till eventually the enemy was driven back with heavy losses.

His bravery, determination, great devotion to duty and utter disregard for his personal safety were an inspiration to all.
