Vir Chakra (VrC)

Major Ravinder Datt Law, commanding an independent armoured squadron, was given the task of containing the enemy thrust on Longewala in the Rajasthan Sector. He deployed his tanks effectively to stem the enemy advance. During the battle, from 6 to 10 December 1971, Major Law inflicted heavy casualties on the enemy armour and provided valuable support to the infantry. 

Throughout, Major Law displayed gallantry, leadership and professional skill of a high order.
