Citation
Captain Lachhman Singh as the Forward Observation Officer on Jhangar front as part of 50 Para Brigade. He directed accurate and timely artillery fire on enemy positions under most trying conditions. On 15th March, he was responsible for extricating a company of 3 MLI, which had been pinned down by the enemy with automatic weapons and mortars. He continued to engage the enemy for eight hours from more or less an open position.
