Citation
On 2 December 1948, Lance Naik Jas Bahadur Thapa was commanding a section when an enemy position was attacked. A hand-to-hand fight ensued which continued for an hour or so. At this time he saw that two of our National Guards, who had tried to climb and assault the enemy Bren gun position, had been wounded and were lying twenty yards from an enemy gun at the top ofthe hill. Lance Naik Jas Bahadur Thapa, at risk to his life, crawled forward to the wounded men and evacuated them one after the other to the regimental aid post.
