Vir Chakra (VrC)

Swaran Singh was with a company of Sikh Light Infantry during their attack on an enemy position in the Western Sector. The company assault was held up due to heavy and accurate medium machine gun fire from an enemy bunker located on a flank. Sepoy Swaran Singh, with complete disregard for his safety, crawled up to the medium machine gun post and silenced it with a grenade. Immediately after this, he was charged by an enemy soldier. Sepoy Swaran Singh lulled the enemy with his bayonet.

In this action, Sepoy Swaran singh displayed gallantry of a high order.
