Naib Risaldar Ram Parikshan Singh was commanding a troop of 45 Cavalry in the Eastern Sector When his position was attacked In strength by enemy infantry and armour, he manoeuvred his troop with utmost skill and closed up at point blank range and knocked out two enemy tanks in quick succession He then engaged the enemy Infantry and broke up to their assault The enemy retreated leaving behind some dead and wounded soldiers, the destroyed tank and some equipment

In this action, Naib Risaldar Ram Parikshan Singh displayed gallantry, leadership, and determination of a high order.
