Vir Chakra (VrC)

Raja Amirthalingam was the medical officer at a post in Ladakh, which was heavily attacked by the Chinese on the night of 19 October 1962. The post suffered many casualties. Captain Raja Amirthalingam kept moving from trench to trench, collecting the wounded and rendering first aid till the post was over run.  

Captain Raja Amirthalingam showed great courage and devotion to duty in complete disregard of his own safety.
