Vir Chakra (VrC)

On the night of 10 September 1965, Lance Naik Pritam Singh led his section consisting of a handful of jawans and wiped out a Pakistani machine gun post in Burlu village. He killed the enemy gunner and bayoneted the other two members of the enemy post. While doing so, he was wounded severely. Disregarding his wounds, he charged the next bunker where he collapsed. 

In this action, Lance Naik Pritam Singh displayed great courage, leadership and devotion to duty in the highest traditions of the Indian Army.
